Olympic inspiration from Antony James
Today, we were very lucky to be given a visit by the Olympic sensation, Antony James. He is a fantastic swimmer who has taken part in multiple championships and has won himself around 500 – 600 medals!
First, we had to do four different activities for Sports for Schools, each for one minute. These varied from spotty dogs, leg drives, press-ups and star jumps.
Antony hosted an inspirational assembly which he talked about his impeccable swimming achievements, which include swimming in the London Olympics, winning the swimming award in the Commonwealth Games and participating in multiple national championships.
Also, Antony swam in the lane next to Michael Phelps (the most decorated Olympian ever) during his heat, and he beat him!
Antony talked about his career in the amazing assembly he gave, he mentioned that he was never a natural swimmer but he put the two most important things an athlete ever needs… TIME AND EFFORT!! This turned him into one of GB’s greatest swimmer ever!
